My mum took herself to here as an emergency and good job she did as she needed an urgent operation on her bowel. The care was very good in intensive care but she was soon rushed out of there way to quickly to make room for others. Her care as soon as she left IC was appauling, she would be left for hours and hours with no one tending to her, if she asked for anything it would take over 2 hours to come. She had random drains in her stomach that no one knew what they were for, leaking fluid everywhere and she was just given a towel to sit on. The surgeons that saw her for her aftercare were extremely rude and condescending. I was so worried that she would die there from a blood clot with no one attending to her that I had to ring the main staff nurse. Everytime i visited nurses were just sat around, drippy as anything, chatting away. I would plead with them to see my mum who was lying there in her own waste in agony and honestly it was like no one gave a damn. She also caught covid there and was moved to a rehibiliation hospital in coalville that was amazing, but she brought Covid to their ward because LRI never checked my mum for this before moving her over. This gave them much more cleaning to do once my mum was with them. I see why so many people die here, the lack of empathy and care is below the lowest standard, go private if you can and never come here. You'll leave with more issues than when you came in. I am disgusted that these standards remain in this day and age
