My father was seen by a student doctor at the eye hospital who was efficient, polite and asked detailed questions. I liked the fact she introduced herself before starting her consultation. She discussed her diagnosis with a senior doctor and they then both discussed further treatment with my father. I did have to ask a very direct question about potential causes for his illness and I don't feel we would have had an answer if I hadn't pressed for this. However, once asked, the senior doctor offered further information which put my father at ease. It's a shame the appointments system lets down the service. Referred as an emergency via fax, my father eventually had to call to make an appointment, and when we arrived this morning, the appointment wasn't on the system. That said, the receptionist quickly resolved the issue and we were seen within 5 minutes of the original appointment.
