Whilst I cannot fault the care by Mr Almeyda, the feeling on the day of surgery was not quite the same.
I appreciate that it was a big ward with many operations to get through, but it was very matter of fact. I compare this to the care I received recently at the Nuffield Orth. for a recent knee op., where the care was much higher.
On admission, the usual checks were done. But post op, no checks were done before discharge, it was just a question of waiting until the prescribed time since the op before I was sent home with painkillers, whereas at Noc, there were two checks of vitals before I was allowed home.
I appreciate that the staff are very busy, but it felt very impersonal.
