Review of Eating Disorder Day Service
13th January 2023

My experience was really good i believe that i was able to understand what was going on and how i could improve, i think i’m in a better mental state than i was before.

Suggested improvements
i wish i could have had more session, like having a couple sessions per week, there were times where i could have done with a bit more support than just once a week.

Every time we have visited the clinic, and for his brother, I feel that the care and respect for my children and myself is outstanding. My children feel safe, comfortable here. [name removed] sees [name removed] and is fantastic. He is keeping a very close eye on [name removed] and I feel everything is being done that can be. [name removed] sees [name removed], and he rarely feels comfortable with other people, but loves [name removed]! [name removed] and [name removed] have also been fantastic, everyone goes above and beyond to help both children. The brambles is a comfortable welcoming place.

Suggested improvements
There is nothing that could’ve been done better!

Response from The Brambles

Thank you for your feedback. Following discussion with the team they are in the process of engaging with our participation group to think how information related to feeding plans can be improved and shared with all of our service users. Training has taken place recently, facilitated by the dietician related to feeding plans.

She was treated with dignity and respect, but not always listened to.

Suggested improvements
Listen more to the child and not tell them what they should be thinking or doing. That does not help them. They need to be heard. My daughter has been under the Brambles since early 2020, however it is not until March of 2022 that she has finally started to talk and be heard and this has all been down to [name removed] who i cannot recommend more highly. My daughter finally has someone who is listening to her and not talking at her or telling her what she should be doing/saying. This makes a huge difference in the mental wellbeing.

The staff are friendly and so respect to my child and myself.

Suggested improvements
Sometimes our appointments have had to rearranged and we do understand that this is not always something that can be foreseen, but due to my childs anxiety this can be stressful for them.

Response from The Brambles

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that this has been your experience. We try to avoid cancelling appointments as we realise they are really important. The demand on the service has been extremely high and there have been times where there has been high levels of sickness which may have impacted on your experience. We hope as the service continues to recruit new team members this should happen less often.

Response from The Brambles

Thank you for your feedback. I am sure the staff rearrange appointments as a last resort as I know they will understand the anxiety this causes. Best wishes, Hugh Jones, Patient Experience Manager

I’ve found the last few weeks very useful. It has been great and informative listening to others experiences and to learn that we’re not alone in the struggle at mealtimes. Sometimes mealtime can feel a lonely place! The suggestions of what to do during meals and after were useful.

It was all fine
