Excellent experience. Communication well managed. The hospital phoned beforehand to make sure everything was ready, and also after the operation to check up on me to make sure I was well and coping after the operation. Made to feel welcome, at ease and nothing was too much trouble. All staff were kind, helpful, attentive and were never 'too busy' to give attention when needed. I felt that I was in professional hands at all times and I had full confidence in all staff. The operation went smoothly, efficiently and the result was very good. Pain and discomfort was well managed, and I was surprised that there wasn't more pain/discomfort! No post operative issues, no complications, and I'm making very quick recovery! Significantly better care than the average NHS experience! Aftercare, whilst short, (an hour or so awaiting for discharge) was very pleasant, the nurses made me great tea, toast, and biscuits to which there seemed no limit! They kept asking, 'would you like any more? I was thirsty after my op so I ended up having 3 cups of tea! When I was discharged, I was expecting to be taken out to the waiting room, but the nurse kindly carried my bag out to my waiting lift in the car park! Nothing was too much trouble, As I said earlier, they even phoned me after the op at home to make sure I was coping and was following all their proscribed care instructions. I would choose this hospital next time if I had the option! I thoroughly recommend this hospital - if only the whole of the NHS was like this! Thank you to all the staff and Brendan McIlroy for everything you did for me!
