The nurse was very nice but the person who answered the buzzer was not as helpful. She just said she would check me in. She didn’t explain to me to wait in the waiting room and someone would be with me shortly. I like to have things explained to me as I’m autistic

The nurse who saw me was very nice and explained things to me. The lady on the buzzer wasn’t as helpful. She didn’t explain to me that I should wait in the waiting room and someone would come and get me. She just said ‘I’ll book you in’ and that was it. I was left there wondering for 10mins. Also the waiting room had NO chairs. I have a heart condition and arthritis. I had to perch precariously on a window sill for 10mins. A lady even stopped to ask if I was ok. By the time the nurse called me I had a headache, dizziness and my back pain was excruciating. This is NOT inclusive for people with physical and mental health difficulties. Please put some chairs in there. I understand there is still covid about but the hospital has actual covid patients and they have chairs. If you are not going to provide chairs could you possibly mention that on the appointment letter so those of us with physical disabilities can make necessary adjustments

Response from Stuart Road Clinic

We apologise that there was nowhere for you to sit before your appointment. We have now added in chairs in reception following a change in the covid guidance.
