I receive my treatment at the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The unit is very friendly and very professional. The ward where day treatment is given is a bit scary when you first attend, but the staff are great and explain everything that is going to happen, and you soon settle into being there for regular treatments. I have attended for 6 chemotherapy sessions, and will continue for shorter visits every 3 weeks for the next year for injections. The outpatient are is fine. I have waited over an hour to see my consultant, however when I get in to see him the care I receive is excellent and worth the wait. I would suggest that when there is a wait for the doctor it would be helpful if the reception staff could tell when you arrive that your consultant is running late and roughly how long that wait might be. Other than that I have nothing to suggest to make the CCU better than it is.
