I would like to say that they provide a great service unfortunately I can't the staff preferred to discuss holiday details and aimlessly walk around with paperwork easiest cases come first sorry to say
All staff in Nuclear Radiology, AMU and Accident and Emergency were understanding and very professional.
I have had the misfortune to visit A &E 3 times in recent years at weekends. Fabulous
staff overworked but still charming.
Each time I have been moved on to other hospitals for quite minor procedures .
Is St Richards just a " holding bay " at weekends?
With GP surgeries closed this doesn't help.
Is it different during the week?
I had day surgery at Pagham ward at 28th of december 2016. Everything goes well. Very good staff, helpful. Thank you very much guys. Love you all
The staff on Howard Ward and throughout St Richard's were kind, helpful, thoughtful and caring. The hardest part was waiting. We were phoned at 9.00 and asked if we could get into hospital within 15 minutes as we would be second on the list. We arrived at 9.15 as requested and then waited until 2.30 to be called down to theatre for the operation. I understand that this was at the request of the anaesthetist who wanted to do the two children on the list first. We would have been grateful to know once the plan had changed as waiting to be called down to theatre was wearing. The staff on Howard Ward kindly rang down periodically and kept being told we would be called 'shortly' or 'in the next hour'. If we had known how long it was going to be we could have sat in the teenage lounge and watched a DVD, rather than being on tenterhooks all day.
Shambles, turned up just after 10:30, as requested, for an 11:30 scan/biopsy. Nurse finally arrives after I had ventured out to find out what was happening.
Porter turns up on time but is told will be another 15 minutes before my wife is ready, hadn't finished her obs or changed into gown.
The 11:30 scan was missed so my wife was delayed even longer.
On return to room was over 1/2 an hour before nurse turned up, and that was following a visit to the nurses station by my daughter.
Basically for private care it's not acceptable, having been myself in two separate private hospitals, I was always dealt with within minutes of arriving, both before the procedures and directly afterwards, no chasing required.
Hopefully this was just a bad day and not a reflection on the fact we were in a NHS trust hospital.
The whole team of staff on Wittering ward worked well together. Helping one another, regardless of discipline, to the good working of the ward. Great care was taken to ensure that I understood what was happening to me, and options available if needed. The meals served were tasty and adequate for my needs. Please pass on my thanks to all on the wards.
Although it was a busy time at A&E, my wife & I were treated with care , concern & respect, at the triage stage & in the ward area.
I would like to commend the diligent duty and care provided to my Father from the team at A&E yesterday. The team were incredible efficient and caring when obtaining a diagnosis and investigations to the start of his treatment.
Yesterday was a busy day in A&E and all staff were working hard to support the care of the patients. But I would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful lady who provided my mum with a cup of tea and bisciut, my mum had been up all night worried about my father and it is often these small tokens of kindness that make a difficult situation tollerable. In greatful appreciation. The Sheehan Family.
Fantastic service from the endoscopic team. They Understood my concerns and treated me with kindness and understanding. A procedure I was dreading turned out to be very calm and not at all stressful for me. As hospitals appointments go this was one of the best.
