As a health professional myself, I was appalled by the total lack of empathy and privacy. The paramedic I saw came to the waiting area and; 1. Didnt even attempt to say my name. I know it is long and 'foreign' but at least try. They merely assumed it was me ( assuming based on my looks / race) and came and asked me what my name was. 2. Proceeded to talk about my x-ray results whilst still in the waiting room and asked me to stand so they could see for themselves that I couldn't weight -bare. All this in front of other patients. 3. After satisfying himself that I was struggling, he told me that he would see me but my x-ray was clear ( I.e. no fractures/ breaks). This dissmissive attitude was totally unnecessary given that I patiently waited for my turn to be seen. 4. After a very rushed consultation, I was given crutches and a 30 second instruction on how to use them before being ushered on my way out. I proceeded to hop my way down the corridor. Crutches aren't as easy to use as they appear ! Such a pity because everyone else I encountered was so kind.

Suggested improvements
1. Privacy - take me to a consulting room and then ask ans assess me. 2. Respect - irregardless of how I look and stop assuming things about people. I was ( and still am) in absolute agony when I put any pressure on my ankle and as a fellow health professional, I wouldn't turn up to urgent care if it wasnt urgent, especially during Covid-19 and rising numbers!
