The waiting lists are extremely long. I have been utterly frustrated with this process. Trying to do the best for my child has been exhausting during the 2 and half year wait. The end result talking with Dr [name removed] was the highlight of the process. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He is a credit to the profession.

Suggested improvements
Waiting lists need to be addressed. It’s infuriating when a school continually responds back with “we need a diagnosis” when you’re trying to get help. Children need help now not in 3 years time. QB results should be given at the end of the first consultation so the parent knows whether there is a strong indication of ADHD or not. To wait 3 years for this information is just not acceptable. Also a receptionist to talk to over the phone would be better, than a constant voicemail which is frustrating. Adequate breaks for staff when conducting the QB check. My daughter said the member of staff’s tummy rumbled throughout the whole test. Also less typing by the staff during QB check as the tapping in the keyboard was distracting.
