I was the first one to be seen. Receptionist heard complaing about Monday Mornings. Triage nurse slightly aggressive. To my culture definitely aggressive. I am Mediterranean. When she saw no bruise or swelling to my left foot she was not interested. I am registered blind, she isn't. Asked if she wanted to compare with other foot, she wasn't interested. Tried to explain the pain, was treated like I was a waste ofher time. BUT I PAY HER SALARY. AND I HAD NEVER BEEN TO THE ST MARY s TREATMENT CENTER BEFORE. No need for x rays. Tore a ligament, bad luck nothing she could do. Advised totake lots of ibobrufen. I am feeling worse after a day teaching. Tried to suggest she wrote something to placate my boss to say I should work from home but she acted last she was deaf. Felt like saying If you hate patients change your job or go back where u come from (Australia? ). Tried to pin MY ISSUE down to my anxiety but it hurts and it's real. Seemed very worried to ascertain N EVENT who wasof injury instead of THINKING: lady you are registered blind, there might be no incident I you can recall. I feel so down having treated like an idiot, faking it, mental health freak with no consideration of THE IMPACT FINDING DIFFICULT TO WORK MIGHT HAVE ON MY DIDABILITY AND WORK PLACE. I have to work for a living and unlike this triage nurse I have a high empathy for my clients. Please from the receptionist to the nurse, change your job. You are not owned a living. Thankyou
