My Dad was in Popular ward for several weeks over 2 occasions. There was poor communication with the family. The physio he was promised was merely walking to the door and back. Things that were promised, by doctors, did not happen. In fact, my mum had to sort one of the major things herself. He was left in a wet bed over night, after a bottle he had used for the toilet tipped. Two members of your staff had an argument in front of my dad about whether a wet bed should be changed immediately or wait until the morning. Upon further investigation, it appears it is your protocol to leave elderly patients in a wet bed all night until the morning shift arrive. On his final morning, in your so called care, he asked for a bottle to got the toilet and was told there were none and he was expected to wet himself, which he had to. This is appalling and humiliating. As a family, we are astonished that this was allowed to happen. Who do I need to speak to, to take this further?
