As far as the care is concerned it was second to none. The nurses spend the time talking and reassuring you. My only issue with Turnchapel is that the main corridor off which the rooms are located is often clouded in cigarette smoke.. The poor nurses have to help the patients in the smoking room too! I'm a nurse and would refuse on the grounds of maintaining my own health! The hospital has been revamped and is light airy and welcoming. My husband is having palliative care and this place is like being at home. I applaud the administrators. A better place could not be found to support the terminally ill patient. But PLEASE sort out the smoking!!!
