I had major surgery in the past and spent 10 days as an in patient. My excellent care was facilitated by the then excellent Matron, Christine. I am now caring for a loyal patient of HJE who has spent millions at this hospital and whose care has suffered since the resignation of Christine and her staff. The hospital is run by the CEO called Caroline Fox who along with her PA personally blocks complaints and observations from patients and carers. Like myself my patient suffered an injury at the hospital which was photographed but covered up and there have also been other serious losses. The CEO's staff have a dislike of Insurers who have contributed to the wealth of this hospital which is not invested in good facilities and staff for patient care. Recently the hospital was blacklisted when it was found to be involved in illegal overcharging. Patients receive erroneous bills as well as double charging. Food and Beverage staff are not trained in diet needs and can cause loss and injury. Accounts and Cashier staff are untrained, unprofessional, rude and offensive. The patient screamed in a ward for 7 nights after major neuro surgery. The excuse given was that the ward sister had hormonal problems due to her pregnancy. The excellent surgeon decided to withdraw his services to this hospital. Spanish senior staff are untrained, uncaring and not briefed. Often showers have not been operable although recently it has been found that one shower is operable. On one occasion several Breast Clinic patients and their families congregated in outpatient reception complaining bitterly about the way they were being treated but the treatment they received from the Out Patient staff was very unprofessional and extremely uncaring. The pharmacy staff do not deal with Insurers even the ones who pay for take home drugs. We are very satisfied with our Insurers who have promptly paid out millions to this hospital. Premiums being set at approx £6000 peryear or £500 per month. There are problems with out patients appointments and key staff all seem to be absent at the same time having being given the same annual leave dates. When a CEO and her PA block and cover up complaints and there is illegal activity the only option is for the patient to make a legal claim, report the matter to all relevant authorities including the CQC and to consider giving relevant attention to media as in most cases this will protect other vulnerable patients. There has been some good surgeons and anesthetists who we have brought to this hospital but they also have complaints about the hospital. Most of the surgeons and practitioners that the hospital now recommends are not experienced
