I attended this hospital for a problem with my knee. The consultant was very manipulative during the physical examination. Since the examination I have had very upsetting and restricting issues with my knee. I cannot go about certain daily activities like i used to. After the exam the patella was moving out of place very easily and it was very distressing. I was also getting pain in a part of my knee I had never had it before, at the back of my knee. I was told I would need to pay for an MRI, even though it was requested to check for damage from the physical exam due to pain I experianced after the exam. The doctor tried to say I already had an issue with the back of my knee even though I never had pain there befire the exam. Thee hospital still tried to make me pay for the scan after the Matron looked into my case. The matron did not even call me to ask what happened, she spoke to the consultant and came to the conclusion that she sees no reason for why I should not have to pay for the scan. I find it disgusting that a patient would have to pay to check for damage caused by the doctor authorising the scan. This experiance has traumatised me from the thought of ever having a similar physical examination again.
