I had my baby here and during my pregnancy midwife told me to shut up as having a speculum was no big deal despite the fact that she was very rough in her physical approach . My father was in A& E and a junior dr spoke to him in a manner which was completely devoid of respect . This happened on two other occasions with 2 different care of the elderly consultants- HOW IRONIC . How mighty they regarded themselves without considering that they themselves would become old . When my father was coming home for palliative care one consultant actually was talking to him about where he had himself practiced medicine ( my father was a retired GP. He spoke to him as if he didn’t care he was dying & in point of fact the only caring medical staff on the team were the medical students who were very kind & clearly could see and were embarrassed by the arrogance . In the cardiology unit he had lovely registrars and consultants , what a contrast ! I cannot praise them enough . So kind & prepared to go that extra mile .
