At the time I asked for help, I knew something was wrong but not exactly was the issue following my Mum’s passing. I was able to pinpoint what the real issue was on the first session of talking to Allan which then helped me sort my thoughts and feelings out. Each time we spoke, Allan did a check in on things we’d discussed before. I was impressed that he taken notes, it made me feel like he cared. I was given things to work on in between sessions and I was able to move forward through these and the sharing of my worries and concerns at that particular time. I really looked forward to talking to him as each time we spoke, I felt more at peace with the situation and what had been happening which was out of my control. Although life is now different, I feel at peace with life without Mum and the changes to my family unit.

Suggested improvements
I would have preferred to speak to someone sooner but I understood the need for a certain amount of time to elapse after losing my Mum. It would have been helpful to me for a date to be given in the first instance that the counselling would commence.
