I saw Dr Elly Brockbank and Dr Devlin during my last follow up appointment post surgery and asked if it was possible to leave feedback. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer on 5th June and since then I can’t fault a single stage of my care. The doctors were quick to put me on chemotherapy as the cancer was spreading quickly, all whilst talking me through the procedure and offering me mental and physical support. I was not treated as just another patient, the care felt personal and I feel this played a great part in my recovery. Despite the nature of the appointments, I have always looked forward to seeing the doctors as their kind words and professionalism bring great reassurance. Dr Brockbank’s regular check ins prior to surgery came with practical advice and an opportunity to voice any concerns so I felt prepared going into theatre. Post surgery, I never had any doubt when my consultants told me that I was now in remission and I will forever be grateful for the outcome. If ever there was a way in which a cancer diagnosis should be treated, I feel that my level of care would be exemplary!
