I have only been an outpatient at the Spire Hospital Portsmouth since 2016 but over several years, when I have been an inpatient, I found that the service had deteriorated considerably. Back in 1999 the nursing staff were BUPA nurses but since then they all seem to be agency staff so there was little or no continuity and I rarely saw the same nurse twice. This was in direct contrast to the Nuffield Hospital in Chichester where all the staff were Nuffield nurses. On one occasion at the Spire Hospital Portsmouth I occupied three different rooms during a short stay and when I asked for a shower I was taken to yet another room as my room only had a bath; there had also been a flood in another bathroom.
