Share review of Spire Manchester Hospital
Spire hospital is lovely and clean, with a nice feel about the place. Most of the team are very thorough and you do feel cared for and respected.
Having a life shortening condition (which wasn't the reason for this particular surgery) I was upset to find as I was booking in for surgery with the consultant, that he was asking when I would pay my bill! An invoice I haven't even received yet! The anaesthetist although very efficient at their job spoke to me in a very condescending manor regarding my health condition, which upset me and made me feel uneasy as I was being put to sleep for a completely different and unconnected surgery.
Having woken up in considerate pain I can not help but thank all that were involved in my care, there afterwards. In recovery I was treated so kindly and once back in my room where I suffered a bad breathing episode I felt like I was in complete safe hands, Charley (RGN) is an absolute asset to the team and I can not thank her enough for her care.
Food and drink were very sparce with no offer of tea throughout the whole day and I was only offered a light snack for the whole day. From booking in at 7am to leaving at 9pm I had a sandwich with hot drink. The hospital did feel like it was short staffed as when we booked in at 7am rooms were not ready until after 8.15am which lead to a whole army of questions, measuring, changing, food ordering etc within 10 minutes, not a very calming moment before being first on the surgery list!
