I self-funded my treatment (hernia repair) as, otherwise, I would have had a nine-month wait, during which I would have been quite restricted in taking any beneficial exercise and would have continued to suffer pain and inconvenience. I was given a total, overall, cost for the treatment so I could budget effectively. I was able to research and arrange for a surgeon of my choice to carry out the repair and eveything was straightforward and efficient and the surgeon (Gavin Robertson) was brilliant. It was nice to have a private room and the staff were very attentive, pleasant and efficient and my wife was able to wait in my room, while I had the operation. Should I have/need private health treatment, in the future, I would be happy to be taken care of by the Spire Leicester Hospital.
