Everything about this hospital was good apart from a communication problem which occurred between my GP practice and the hospital in the first instance. I believe that the problem lies in the system rather than either institution. Both were keen to do their best but the communication system failed to involve the patient (me) and ended up with me not having an MRI scan when I had a serious issue in my back and only being seen for the first time 7 months later. Had I been put in contact with the hospital directly (as would happen if I was making an appointment for an Xray for example) this problem would not have occurred.
Several sets of emails (written by my Dr and the Hosp) about this situation should be on record somewhere.
Care by all staff was exceptional, food good.
Always felt safe .
I’ve stayed at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Northfield Birmingham from 22nd Feb til 6th March had 2 spinal surgeries and have to say they’re all amazing here. I’ve been treated with respect and every one was so caring. My surgeon Mr Haleem is outstanding, he visited me every single day during my stay sometimes even twice and he made several phone calls to my husband to give him updates, he’s simply amazing and so dedicated. Now I’m looking forward getting a speedy recovery at home
Thank s again Mr Haleem, Mr P Rehousek, Orlam and all the nurses in intensive care and ward 4 who looked after me during my stay. Elke Hooper

As a nurse myself, I appreciated all the wonderful care given to me during my brief stay.
If I ever need orthopaedic Surgery again, I will be heading up to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham.
Thank you all.

excellent service run by the whole hospital-well done
I felt safe ,confident and in good care at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. I felt I was treated as an individual with my own circumstances and needs , and respected at all times. Excellent communication between myself and staff looking after me. Highly recommend this hospital
I have visited Northfields Orthopaedic Hospital twice for appointments with my Mum. Every member of staff we met was cheerful and helpful. It was clean and efficient-we were seen on time on both occasions. Mum’s care has been excellent in every department; X-ray, scanning, consultant clinic and pre op. The NHS at it’s best!! Many thanks to all, we happily recommend you.
fab staff,
looked after me very well
Overall care was very good.
My interview was delayed by 30 mins. but Mr. Hakeem gave a meaningful explanation and apology.
He then proceeded to conduct an admirable consultation in all respects: interpersonal skills, description and explanation of my condition and the options available and the arrangement of future treatment. My input was also treated with respect
