Most of my care was incredible during my time at this hospital receiving surgery on the 18th of November 2022. I would say as a suggestion the phone system is very confusing to get hold of the correct department during the times I had to try and contact someone, I had been forwarded continuously by staff that could have seemed kinder towards me except they would just forward me on to the next person and then eventually I would end back up where I started. Today on the 20th of December I had this problem also sadly. There was a moment during surgery whilst I was waiting in a hospital bed and a nurse walked past and shouted to the other nurses ‘this one is crying’ and I felt she could have been more discreet about this as I was already upset and now embarrassed also. On a happier note I would like to commend the anaesthetist on my appointment on the 18th of November in the morning I don’t remember his name sadly but he was so kind and really empathetic towards me whilst I was waiting for surgery and afterwards making sure I was okay throughout.
