I made a decision about going to private hospital to get my sugery done. In all the hospital that I checked in Glasgow it was Ross Hall Hospital that shown a best reviewed. I went ahead and did a self pay so that I won’t keep myself of being on NHS List. I was so devastated that What I paid for is not the best service i received. And even the rate of reviews I saw about the so called private hospital ( Ross Hall) is not what I meant. I felt so very disappointed and cheated. Ross Hall Hospital didn’t have enough equipments to safe the life of the patients in the theatre room. The consultants was not fully prepared and even get adequate informations. Despite the huge amounts of the money i paid for, there was not thorough check up such as Scan etc to see ahead of what should be done and not before doing the surgery. I was unable to see the consultant on the pre assessment day to talk about the surgery before the day. The consultant was unable to complete the operation. I sent my complaint via email in which the director and the consultant honoured but to my surprised, the director said they will not be able to refund part of my money back to me so far there is no complications. How? After risking my life in the theatre room and not providing enough blood to support and safe my life in the theatre room. I will not get over this issues until part of my money is refund. Because I didn’t owe them nothing and I pay this out of my hard work and sweat money. So if you’re planning to do a sugery especially anything that deal with pelvic I will not recommend that hospital to you. Thanks
I had a knee replacement in September. The surgeon and the nursing care were excellent, but the physio was dreadful. Because I live over an hour away they offered me 'virtual' physio. Absolutely ridiculous!! I needed patella and IT band massage and ultrasound therapy. No way they provided that. Despite the fact that I had paid for physio in my package.
Ross Hall physio is appalling.
Amazing hospital and amazing staff 10/10 couldn’t fault a single thing
Dr Adnan Tariq Endocrinologist Consultant was unprofessional. On meeting Dr Tariq he did not introduce himself which i thought odd as every other doctor i have met always introduces themselves. Ok i knew who he was as i booked the appointment but its professional to introduce yourself. The consultation consisted of Dr Tariq chewing gum throughout and he failed to listen to what i was trying to tell him. In the end i gave up trying to explain myself as he was not listening.Dr Tariq wanted a list of blood tests done even though i told him most of them had already been done and had been normal. I was getting the impression he was just trying to generate more money by trying to push the tests. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. When i received the letter from Dr Tariq regarding my visit the details in it were wrong which just proved to me he was not listening. The GP details were wrong as I had provided my GP details but it was addressed to a GP I have never seen and at one point my name was spelled wrong. He stated i had impaired fasting when i specifically told him the levels were consistent with a diagnosis of diabetes according to NHS guidelines so raised not low. I will now have to go and see my GP and explain that the details in the letter are wrong and see if they can help. So if anyone is looking for an Endocrinologist i would not recommend Dr Tariq, I would say save your money and look for someone else as your consultation will be brief and most likely you will not receive an outcome except be out of pocket.
On arrival at hospital no problems checking in at both reception desks tellingthem I was a private patient and would be paying for my ct scan.I was then called for my scan by a very nice nurse who informed me about the treatment I was going to relieve and that she was going to have to use a canula as I needed dye through my system during this process the radiologist appeared did not even introduce herself and asked very disparaginally if I was paying and it would be 500pounds never felt so embarrassed in fact I think the young nurse was embarrassed as much as me surely no one should go through especially when you have told both the reception desks you were paying for your treatment felt absolutely humiliated and very very disappointed I now await an mri scan at ross hall braehead and hopefully treated as a human being.
I had a suspected Basal Cell Carcinoma and chose Mr Scott, an excellent plastic surgeon to perform the biopsy to confirm the diagnosis, which he did, . A few months later I had an appointment with Dr Herd a dermatologist who specialises in a procedure called MOHS which has a greater success rate in removing cancerous cells. I was very anxious to have the BCC removed timeously as it was very close to my eye and iIfeared for my sight. The only appointment i had with Dr Herd lasted approximately 4 minutes during which time he asked me 3 basic questions which I had previously told his colleague Mr Scott, he spent the remainder of our brief meeting with him telling me how he had fallen off his bicycle and had a longer waiting list. i asked him the reason for the consultation and was advised he “liked to meet patients before a procedure” Immediately afterwards I received a bill for £260 which I paid for from myself. (Dr Herd was aware of this) I heard nothing for 7 months when I was contacted by a secretary offering me an appointment. Thankfully, I had already had the specialised MIHO’s surgery performed by a supreme professional plastic surgeon. Mr Aldridge at Forth Valley NHS Hospital. The care u received was excellent. I would never recommend Dr Herd as I was charged an exorbitant sum for nothing,
The staff at Ross Hall were excellent, anything I needed during my stay was never a hassle. Everyone was very friendly & helpful.
The only difference between Rosshall and the NHS is the shorter waiting list but you get longer appts on the NHS. 10-15 min for a pre surgery/first appointment costing £200‐350 is outrageous.
Disappointing service at ophthalmology. No transparency on costs, ridiculously overcharged scans that are mandatory for the surgery that are free with competitors, and lack of diagnostic testing that affects surgery outcome. The consultant I saw had very little knowledge, was patronising and spoke over me the whole time, while also giving misinformation.
Those who intend to pay out of pocket for extremely high costs for private healthcare or have insurance should be given better service. Much better service and testing within the NHS. Not even basic tea and coffee services. This is a shocking representation of private care.
Excellent staff, excellent hospital facility. Couldn't have been more attentive and reassuring for my first time in hospital for a procedure and the aftercare was amazing.
Massive thanks to the staff on the ward and also to the staff at the Braehead clinic for the treatment room during the follow up and wound care period.
Hernia operation was a disaster blood clot/infection /failed surgery and have waited 10 months on further surgery however despite loosing weight and following all instructions I had a consultation 6 weeks ago and a letter outlining the next steps/ pre-op etc there has been absolutely nothing despite 6 phone calls and 3 e-mails including to the complaint process and absolutely no correspondence whatsoever……….absolutely save your money and don’t waste your time on this so called top private healthcare provider
A very unhappy unwell paying customer
