I was taken by ambulance to A and E yesterday pm. Despite all the problems with covid I received excellent and prompt care. Unfortunately I do not remember the names of the doctor or the nurses who attended me. They were very good and informative.
My name is David Porter d.o.b 31/03/1946
I attended for a mri scan on my prostate late November or early December as this was a Cancer issue I was very apprehensive in the first instance. From when I entered the mobil unit I was put at ease by the technicians there which helped the process pass it seemed in a short time. Thank you all
Mrs Bama Selvaraj and her team treated me well during my procedure. She explained what to expect, what the procedure is and after the procedure. During the procedure they made me so relax, chatting me away to take my mind off the procedure. Also I was shown the whole findings on the screen, my questions were answered and fears allayed. They were quite warm and receptive.
I did not apply to me in seeing one.
Reasonable environment but staff were excellent
A heartfelt huge THANKS to Mr Shankar , for giving our 95 year old mother back her independence and more importantly relief from chronic and severe pain . Our Mother had a hip replacement 2 months ago , throughout we had the best of care. The amazing COPE team were missed when they no longer needed to visit .She is now able to get into her beloved bath and is walking 2 inches taller .Her Quality of life and ours as a family who care for her has improved so so much . She is looking forward to her OPD , where she plans to walk in to see Mr Shankar so she can thank him personally .
Patient admitted to a&e, spent night in treatment room, freezing cold, no heating, thin blanket provided, no pillow. Directly opposite staff desk, several workers talking at full volume, no consideration for patient. Not one visited patient during seven hours in there to check on condition. Transferred to elderly unit as no other bed available, bed unmade from previous patient, spilled fluids on floor, table covered in half eaten food, floor unswept. Water jug removed and not replaced, patient unable to hydrate. No staff came to answer bell when assistance needed. Doctor rude, uncaring. Gave news of terminal illness when patient alone, no support given. Senior charge nurse started off very aggressive till all problems shown, then he couldn't do enough to put right once contact made with assistant to chief executive.
Nurse arrived with treatment yet no tests had been done, no discussion about condition or diagnosis had taken place, no doctor had physically seen patient, no consent requested. Patient expected to receive treatment it fit to sit area full of complete strangers, no privacy or dignity in a&e and in minors. Staff nurse left patient notes in full view of complete strangers with personal data clearly visible. Same nurse forced patient's hand into uncomfortable position to try to speed up treatment with no prior explanation. Patient dumped in ucc waiting room with no way to get home despite arriving by ambulance.
Everyone at King Georges, Mr Wong and Cope team were great. Communicated well. Always felt as though I could contact them if needed. Home visits reassuring and helpful. Clear in explaining physio and recovery expectations.
