General nurses were friendly.

Suggested improvements
Frustrating you have to moan/ kick up a fuss to get any progress on care with Dr. Spent 2 days no help, waisted time.

I was welcomed with a friendly wave and escorted to the waiting room. I was then helped and treated by Sue who was excellent and showed real care and empathy towards me.

I was treated with courtesy and respect by the staff. They were short staffed and were busy and dealing with a lot of patients, some of whom were distressed about the long waiting times. I was glad to leave the hospital however, as I had arrived about 4.40pm thereabouts and did not leave until just after 2am Monday morning.

Suggested improvements
I just wish there could have been more staff on hand as the waiting times were very long and this added to the anxiety I was feeling.

Spent 12 hours in A&E (10.5 hours in Majors B), waiting screen advised 7 hours to see a doctor. I was in a lot of pain (abdominal) and took too long to be seen. Initial A&E triage is a joke, expected to stand in a queue for over an hour, no seating for those waiting for triage. Luckily my wife was able to stay in the queue while I was in pain and had to keep mobile to ward off the pain. At the end of my visit, I was advised to have the CT scan the same day which was another wait (minimum) of 3-4 hours. Minimal discussion regarding my issue, bloods briefly checked. No physical check by toe doctor on my pain. I chose to come back Monday. Doctor advised to come back through Majors B and ask the nurse to book a CT scan which should be quick. I arrived on Monday morning and the nurse knew nothing when checking the system regarding my return. He said that he can't just book a CT scan, I said to him that the doctor advised me and that another triage nurse also said the same. He said I would have to go through A&E again to see a doctor to book a CT scan. Complete waste of my time and the nurse then expected me to sit for another 12+ hours? The waiting screen advised 9 hours waiting time to see a doctor. Hugely disappointed in this service, the waiting times are terrible, doctor didn't care for my issue and the nurse on Monday just ignored what the the doctor advised.

Suggested improvements
Sort waiting times Prioritise people in immediate pain Seating needed for A&E triage queue Information properly recorded for patients which others on different shifts can view and follow

Queens hospital was brilliant the doctors and the nurses‘my only complaint is that I had to wait eight hours to be put on a nebulise. I spent several days in hospital treated extremely well by everyone food was very good.it’s Orbison that’s the AE or under staff but saying that well done

Suggested improvements
More funding would help

I was sat in A&E for more than 15 hours before i saw a Doctor. The nursing care over night was appalling. I am a nurse myself and I felt ashamed to my core that this was the treatment I received. I felt as if i was going to collapse, when i asked a nurse to help me, they did not immediately tend to me. I was alone and had left my stuff in the waiting area as i seeked assistance and asked if one of the nurses wouldn’t mind helping me get my stuff as i could not stand up, they did not help me. Instead another patients reflective who was also wilting, went to get it for me. I could see the nurse looking at me and then speaking in his language to his colleagues followed by sniggers. I have never experienced such poor service from a hospital i was once proud to work in. Something needs to be done, I am usually very patient and understanding, but this experience was far to negative for me to pass over.

Suggested improvements
Staffing is a big issue, support for staff so that this does not occurs once again. To be able to update us on what is happening rather than us having to continually go to ask a nurse who is not willing to assist.
