Review of Outpatient Team 3 written by a patient
21st June 2017

The reception and nursing staff were caring and friendly. There had been traffic problems in the area and the consultant was late starting his clinic. However, we were kept informed of the length of delay in appointment times. My only criticism was that the initial waiting area was fairly clear and cool (it was one of the hottest days of the year), but after being weighed and having blood pressure taken, we were moved to a corridor which was quite congested and very warm. I feel we could have stayed in the initial waiting are for a little longer. Once I was shown into the consulting room, I had no complaints whatsoever regarding the treatment I received.

Review of Trauma & Orthopaedics Plaster Services written by a patient
21st June 2017

Another out-patients department, another delay at Queens. I arrived for my 10:50 appointment on time ,Trauma outpatients. On being taken through to the Trauma waiting room, I immediately noticed there was a 45min delay (was not surprised). After about 30mins a woman complained loudly about the delay. A few moments later the nurse changed the waiting time to 90mins. the same woman complained again saying that her appointment was for 11:00 (10 MINS LATER THAN MINE, ANOTHER WAITING PATIENTS TIME WAS 10:35). After a while she was called in to see the doctor, I complained that her appointment was after mine. I was then informed that patients were now being see on the nurses DISCRETION. This means in the 90mins delay, patients could come in after your long wait and be seen before you. Is this any why to run an outpatients department. Once again, it's not the nurses fault, it's the administrators. I think they would be more suited to running an abattoir (the animals do not have another life to get on with).

I accompanied by daughter and her treatment was first class, caring and compassionate. Could not be improved, first class service. The staff in the hospital in general were also so polite and helpful. Well done
