Everyone was polite friendly and efficient great carr
Everyone was very helpful and polite
I can’t praise the care I received from all staff. Everyone made me feel relaxed and at ease through the whole procedure. I can’t thank everyone enough.
I was received in a good way. Despite the long delay I did not feel that had anything to do with Queens as such but the general state of the NHS. I was there for 13 hours.
I noticed the staffing level was low in the small hours probably as it was weekend.
Had to go A&E twice. First time round they misdiagnosed me saying it was a viral infection. After 5 days of high fever and no improvement had to go back to A&E where they diagnosed me with UTI. My GP also was not satisfied as the hospital did not send any notes of my first visit. The only notes received was "transferred to SDEC" .
Initial reception and action was good but was then left in a corridor and largely ignored for the next 24hrs. Prescribed morphine at 10am and despite asking numerous times as I was in pain I only received it at 4pm and then the meds were pretty much thrown at me as if I were a nuisance. When needing to urinate was not allowed to use a bottle in the corridor so had to ask many times, often waiting almost an hour and a half pleading to be taken where I could urinate. The night staff were pleasant enough but the day duty sister and nurse were little short of rude and ignored myself and other patients routinely. The patients around me were all complaining as anything we asked was met with a derisory grunt at best. I know the system and staff are under pressure but, other than my doctor and the porters who tried to help, this was third world care!
Given my condition I have sadly had to use or be admitted to a number of NHS hospitals over the years but on the two occasions I have had to be taken to Queens the experience has been awful and I dread having to go there again.
Because at times employees don’t look at you as if they see you or share a kind word to reassure you. I get they get bad people, overworked and underpaid but patients are at their most vulnerable, scared and already feel like an inconvenience. A kind smile or be seen goes a long way for everyone.

Still waiting to go fracture clinic
Even though x-ray and m r I had been done and I had notes about my fracture tear and fluid
Absolutely the worried experience iv ever had ar an hospital
I have never experienced such poor treatment from NHS staff prior to this visit.
From the moment I queued up to check-in to the department leading the emergency care I was met with a small queue of patients and 3 members of staff behind the desk. 1 was on the phone, whilst the other was checking in a patient and one was on her desk watching football and ignoring the queue. I was visibly in significant pain as was the elderly lady in front of me. However, it took several minutes for her to realise or take note of us.
Once again, when having the initial check-up carried out, 1 nurse was fantastic and he was incredibly attentive and quick to respond. However, when he handed over to the next member of staff, clothed in red, she appeared visibly disinterested and again was more interested in watching the football as opposed to tending to my tests/pain meds etc. I note here again, I was visibly and evidently in pain and have never witnessed such insensitive treatment from healthcare staff. The ward appeared chaotic with nurses and staff being overheard talking about patients as though they were not present or talking amongst themselves about why certain cubicles occupied by other patients.
I understand that members of staff are under pressure and there is a lot of pressure overall on the NHS, however, I spent 13 hours in total to simply receive a blood test, urine and stool test. There was no information given following my blood test which was completed early on to then let me know what I was waiting for and speaking to staff members was returned by snappy or disinterested nurses whom were not approachable whatsoever.
I feel patients should be provided with regular updates instead of us feeling we have to harass the medical staff.
I appreciate that food and drink was on offer for patients and their visitors
I had a very long wait for a hospital bed. I am currently on a ward waiting to be discharged. It is now after 4pm and potentially have another couple of hours wait. I feel that the process of waiting for your medication and discharge papers takes far too long which in turn is blocking beds for those that need it. If the discharge process was quicker than the turnaround will be
