i was in severe pain when i was transferred in from king george hospital. as soon as i arrived at Queens the doctor was waiting for me assessed me and very quickly had be prepped for surgery because of the time urgency related to my condition [testicular torsion]. from the nurse who robed me up for surgery to the doctors and nurses in the theatre room. everyone provided an excellent level of care and did so with utmost respect and compassion.post surgery aftercare was the same. couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I’m a cancer patient and that night i and doctors thought i have a stroke but i had to wait 12 hours without any madication, and i waited until the end for ct scan results. Unacceptable Sorry
I sat with my 88 year old mother from 7pm to 6pm the following day. No up dates, no communication at all other than when I went and asked. My mother sat on a wheelchair and I sat on a hard chair all the way through the night until the early hours!
Unfortunately it was difficult to understand the doctors and they went off to ask the opinion of their senior dr.
I went in 3 times over 2 weeks, and left with no real answers and a bunch more questions. I'm still extremely unwell and lost with where to go as your hospital once again failed me. 2019 I spent 2 months doing the same thing and after being brushed off ass gas it was actually cancer. So this time around mu anxiety is high as symptoms as similar and I need answers, and yet no one seemed to care cos I wasn't screaming in pain like others even though I was and still am in alot of pain. I still can eat or drink without vomiting and no one cares. Queens hospital continues to fail me.
No information provided, I had to get up and constantly inquiry about my treatment.
Special thanks to HCA Rita who treated Mim with so much kindness. The physios and occupational therapists Donna and Chanel were also especially helpful and took time to explain everything to us. Doctors weren’t always easy to find as busy but did come and give updates when we asked.
My mother has been in the ward for 2 and a half weeks and the staff have treated her with kindness and respect. My mother has dementia and they all made an extra effort with her.
The physio and occupational therapists were lovely and very informative and helped us as a family to make very sensitive decisions.
The HCA Rita is absolutely brilliant and she took great care of my mum and helped us to know she was being cared for when we couldn’t be there.
Communication by the doctors could be better but this is more down to the fact more staff are needed.
Thank you to everyone on Mandarin A for your kindness and care towards my mum
My appointment was cancelled twice even after having an injection to ready me for my procedure. To be informed when i arrived home that the rest of this procedure was cancelled. I even had to follow an extreme diet for two weeks which i will have to do again straight away.
I had to wait for 9 hours in which no one asked me anything, to find out when the shift changed, they didn't even had my name on that specific ward that I was sent toand that I was facing another 6 hour wait. Just to be seen. I gave up the moment I saw this guy next to me in agony with pain, that was having apendicitis and was waiting there for 20 hours already to be seen, and one of the staff told him, it will need the apendicus to burst in order to be seen quicker... Very dissapointing
This about MRU. Nurses ok. Doctors were rude, and ignorant. Two examples - one Dr came to me saying I had spits on my liver and needed another CT asked what was he just highly likely it was cancer. A few days later another doctor saying “they” had requested a MRI scan but it could be done as an outpatient and would be “aimed” to be done in 2 weeks. Queried that I’d been told that hepatoligist (Dr Kirby - fantastic also Dr Kofta also fantastic) I received response “well I’ve if you’ve got cancer it’ll be nothing to do with her” -DISGUSTING.
I am now on ward and told I have a growth on liver bile duct and growths on my liver. Nurses on Sunrise A are age fantastic and generall the doctors range from fine to outstanding.
Your doctors in MRU have no empathy and just want to clear beds. Bordering on murderers. I do question their competency to practice medecine
