I was left for 21hours in a&e before I got a bed.
I was in terrible pain but they didn’t seem to care.
There was only 2 doctors that informed me what was going on.
This hospital is run terrible. To many chiefs not enough Indians.
Only good point was the nurses and staff on sky ward A are very kind & understanding.
My overall care was brilliant and the doctors and nurses on Sky A were very kind, reassuring and very compassionate.
My only issue was once moved from rafting to the same day emergency care the initial staff were very kind and helpful but once handover happened (31st August) I was told as I wasn’t receiving any treatment I had to wait in the waiting room (only 3 seats occupied) bearing in mind I was alone due to my partner not being allowed to stay with me. By this time I had been at the hospital for over 10 hours. When I explained I couldn’t even lift my head up and there was no way I could sit in a waiting room I was told I had no choice. I asked her to tell me how much longer I had to wait for a doctor she walked off told her colleague I was being seen soon and never came back to tell me. I got called in by a doctor half an hour later who told me I was really not well and would be on a ward shortly and I’m not to be put in a waiting room. The nurse in charge again came over to me with distain and hook me up to saline without a word or even asking my name, DOB or allergies!! She gave me a dirty look and walked off!! Absolutely disgusting even people around me were disgusted. I was discharged on Monday after having Viral Meningitis so you could imagine how poorly I looked and was!! I am in the process of putting a complaint in and I was made to feel like hypochondriac!! This was the head nurse on duty!!
Very professional and caring staff allwzys try to help
Was put in an isolation room with no bed or chair. 18 weeks pregnant.
Was vomiting in the room, partner went to ask a nurse for a disposable container for me to be sick into and was shouted at for leaving the isolation room. Having to vomit on the floor in the corner of the room and then lay on the floor next to it.
No one told us a time frame or come to speak to us at all. My partner opened the curtain slightly and waited for a nurse to walk past, as he wasn’t allowed to leave the room. Eventually asked a passing nurse how long we could expect to be and she laughed and said ‘you’re going to be here a while’.
Absolutely appalling.
Worst hospital I've ever been to needs to be shut down no respect or dignity, they talk about you like your not in the same room as you and are too stupid to answer questions, absolutely no communication went for mri scan, left my ring on bed because your not allowed to wear metal, came back to my room all my stuff was moved and someone else was in the room, they changed the linen on the bed, couldn't even be bothered to take notice my ring was on bed now it's lost forever staff showed no compassion about this situation if I knew I was going to be moved to another room I would have taken all my stuff with me, all I was told is to stop moaning and there too busy, basically there to busy to care no point making a complaint because I can see nobody in this hospital care and wants to cover themselves I've heard that's pals only like to cover for the terrible care provided and don't care about service user at all
They were ver good but I'm waiting for a follow up appointment but haven't heard anything iv got diverticulosis so was hope ING to talk to someone this week don't know if the send you a letter or call you
i was in severe pain when i was transferred in from king george hospital. as soon as i arrived at Queens the doctor was waiting for me assessed me and very quickly had be prepped for surgery because of the time urgency related to my condition [testicular torsion]. from the nurse who robed me up for surgery to the doctors and nurses in the theatre room. everyone provided an excellent level of care and did so with utmost respect and compassion.post surgery aftercare was the same. couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I’m a cancer patient and that night i and doctors thought i have a stroke but i had to wait 12 hours without any madication, and i waited until the end for ct scan results. Unacceptable Sorry
I sat with my 88 year old mother from 7pm to 6pm the following day. No up dates, no communication at all other than when I went and asked. My mother sat on a wheelchair and I sat on a hard chair all the way through the night until the early hours!
Unfortunately it was difficult to understand the doctors and they went off to ask the opinion of their senior dr.
I went in 3 times over 2 weeks, and left with no real answers and a bunch more questions. I'm still extremely unwell and lost with where to go as your hospital once again failed me. 2019 I spent 2 months doing the same thing and after being brushed off ass gas it was actually cancer. So this time around mu anxiety is high as symptoms as similar and I need answers, and yet no one seemed to care cos I wasn't screaming in pain like others even though I was and still am in alot of pain. I still can eat or drink without vomiting and no one cares. Queens hospital continues to fail me.
