When I first checked in, the person speaking to me, did not even make eye contact....
I then waited 4 hours to be assessed again and the assessor soebt most of the time texting his friend and was not interested in anything I had to say
I then was sent to another department where I was told I would wait 16 - 20 hours just to see a doctor... I had already been there for 8 hours. I went to another hospital the next day and had a far better experience
My experience in A&E was absolutely agonising. I had serious head injuries with internal bleeding and fractured bones. I had to wait eleven hours in an overcrowded area to have a CT scan and a brief evaluation by a doctor.
I was sent home with a known ectopic pregnancy because she wasn’t sure and couldn’t be bothered to get a second opinion, then when I went back 48 hours later my tube was on the verge of rupturing then had to wait 24 hours for my emergency surgery, and was sent home without any anti biotics what so ever and then got a very very painful infection which I’m now trying to fight ! I am the 7th person I know personally who has had this exact same thing ! Putting peoples lives at risk because they can’t be bothered is not okay and I am taking this further. The nurses I encountered were lovely but apart from them it was attrotious and very traumatic!
I spent 18hrs in A&E to treat a wound. This is absurd.
Were Busy and slightly rushed
Looked after well although time in casualty was excessive. I will never say a bad word with staff not unless abused. They do a good job and deserve to be treated better financially. Well done NHS my very first time in casualty and hopefully the last.
The fastness that I saw that examined me was fantastic. Also the Doctor at the end I couldn’t for him. The Inbetween was a disgrace, especially with the blood test Team there was no compassion. There was no patient privacy and the fact that It took four people to take my blood because the other nurses did not have the patience. The last Doctor that managed to take my blood was then distracted and I thought the needle was actually going to break my arm because he wasn’t looking directly at what he was doing.
All staff were wonderful and I could see they were under pressure. However, the communication was poor, I had to answer the same questions over and over again, and then the result I received was helpful but the follow up was awful.
I was delerious when I arrived, I was looked after appropriately at all times
I am on chemotherapy. Need isolation. Tried to put me in a cubicle with five other people with chairs one foot apart. Told me I had no choice so had to refuse. So put on corner of walk way
