I was left laying down for hours without any information, no updated pain killers. And I really felt like I wasn’t being taken care of. I came from another hospital and I was left sitting in a chair with a back and head injury for hours when I repeatedly explained that I felt like I needed to lay down for support. After asking for my head blocks to be put back into position as the tape had become unstuck and they was not supporting my head, I was told that it was fine and that they should be loose, then defying the whole objective of them. I asked to use the toilet as I felt uncomfortable using a bed pan in front of an entire waiting room I was denied. My partner enquired why and he was given the response of ‘ with how much she was making a fuss and complaining we can’t take the head blocks off’. I was made to feel like my feelings and pain was invalid and therefore felt uncared for by the staff

Suggested improvements
I feel like the staff could have checked with me more often, offered me water as I hadn’t drank in hours ect. I feel as though they could have listened to my concerns and not called them complaints. I was made to feel like I was over reacting and I simply was expressing my pain. Staff could have provided better support by supporting me in using a toilet and or given me more privacy to use a bed pan.
