From those I met, covering the full remit of jobs such as porter, consultant, food and drink provision, security, everyone seemed very easily focussed on getting their patients comfortable and “mended”.

Suggested improvements
No. With current resource, I don’t think there’s much wrong with the A&E process: patients were treated, prioritised and moved along a route to a bed and admission if necessary as part of a well run operation - no matter how slow it is. Of course, some extra resource will help - I hope it comes - but patients and carers must understand that the Initial Assessment Unit in A&E is never going to be a fast track place running smoothly. It’s boisterous and full of sick people and their anxious carers.
