Waited over 13 and half hours to finally receive a CT scan in Majors B, but by then was too tired and exhausted and left before the results as that was going to be at least another 2 hour wait. Spent over six hours in the assessment ward before l even had my bloods taken and ECG done. The nursing team were just too busy to even check on you. It was horrendous and more and more patients kept arriving by ambulance. Old people were left waiting hours to get transport home and several other patients in Majors B had been there the same length of time as me and we’re still waiting to be admitted when l left. If you sat patiently as l did, you just got left.

Suggested improvements
Communicated better and explained waiting times so patients could decide if they were to stay or not. I had been sent via 111 and my doctor with a suspected TIA mini stroke and should have been sent straight to the stroke department.
