I’ve already emailed Pals. First nurse insinuated that I had googled my symptoms and laughed at me, so basically implying that I was lying. She was also very rude when she asked me where my pain was , I put my hand on the area but for some reason she said ‘you can’t just wave your hand around like that’, something on those lines. I wasn’t even waving my hand though. Rude. Second nurse looked at me like I was dumb. I have suspected kidney stones and out of hours GP said if the pain gets too much that I should just go A&E. Which is what I did. This nurse was like but if you’ve already been Gp and she’s told you and given you the form for the scan, why are you here basically. Because obv my pain is so much that I can’t wait till Monday and then can’t wait till however long the hospital will take to phone me. She went and spoke to the doctor who said that the scanning department closes at 5pm. It was past by 5pm by then. Everyone I’ve told think she was lying and she said that to get rid off me. How can the scanning department be closed ? Disappointed. Anyways I’ve emailed PALS.

Suggested improvements
Yeah defo , don’t laugh and assume patients have googled stuff. Don’t be rude, if you don’t understand what they’ve said, ask again nicely. Use your common sense , obv I’m there because I’m in pain. Don’t lie to patients about scanning departments being closed at 5pm (unless that is true but that’s shocking if it is- because what if someone is on the floor screaming). Also don’t just assume that because somebody is walking around that they’re completely fine. There’s a reason why I had that hot water bottle on me. Also to know that some people have higher pain tolerance.
