The staff were polite and very hard working in a very stressful environment where there weren’t enough doctors and the whole system seemed to get more stretched the later the day got. Told after a 10 hour wait that we wouldn’t be seen for possibly another 10 hours! First time I’ve seen patients getting angry and staff having to people manage the situation.
The toilets looked dirty and I can’t say I remember seeing anyone cleaning them. Toilet seats were alway wet- detergent or urine I don’t know??
In the end I went to a different hospital (local for me) and was treated quickly and efficiently and had my operation without having to wait very long.
Suggested improvements
More doctors on hand to deal with not just the severe injuries.
Cleaner environment.
More communication as the announcement that we were unlike to be seen that night was only vocalised because the patients were getting irritable and were constantly venting their frustrations on the nurses and asking what was happening as we had already waited 3 hours for a doctor to read our notes.
