All staff, nurses and doctors were brilliant. I think they do a fantastic job but are totally understaffed. I feel the system is broken as we all know due to money and staff leaving the NHS so leaving staff shortages. A total of 10 hours from registering to being discharged in my opinion is way too long. I will reiterate I do not blame the overworked nurses and doctors.

Suggested improvements
A realistic time structure to be given because all patients just sit for end less hours waiting and wondering when they might get attended to. It’s a know fact that stress is bad for one’s health well stress levels go through the roof on top of the patients illness whilst waiting. Just not enough communication with those waiting. UTC area is scattered across the main thoroughfare into the hospital and so waiting for your name to be called is hard to hear above the echoing noise in this area.
