No triage, just based on time of arrival. Was sent for a blood test which took 3 hours so I was automatically had a 3 hour wait as I was sent to the wrong A&E dept. Saw 2 doctors, 1st one diagnosed the issue (kidney stones) and wrote urgent CT Scan required, then saw a second doctor who proscribed painkillers, waited 4 hours for painkillers to be told it was another 5 hour wait to see a further Doctor who would be able to arrange for the CT scan, although it would be in 48 hours time.

Suggested improvements
The A&E department is totally disjointed. In 9 hours I saw 2 Doctors had a blood test and urine test. The second Doctor was unaware that I’d had the tests done so was a nurse who I asked about the painkillers. The system seems to be totally antiquated, using paper files that invariably get lost or don’t contain the correct information. It would also help if people using A&E were only accompanied by 1 other person. There were entire families there that didn’t need to be. It should be for A&E only, too many people taking advantage of what’s an already stretched system.
