Share review of Queen's Hospital
Mostly nursing care was very good.
I had a bad experience with nurse Victoria.
I needed my catheter removed and mentioned it early in the day. She kept saying she was going to do it but didn’t. She came in to offer me painkillers which I didn’t need and the other nurses tended not to do that. Eventually around 1 pm she said she was going to do it I layed down on the bed then she went out and didn’t come back. I eventually got up and complained at the desk and in the end after about 20 minutes nurse Riki - who was on other duties came in and did it. It took 10 seconds.
Nurse Victoria came in to apologise later and I said let’s draw a line under it.
She then decided to flush my canular even though I didn’t need any intravenous medication at that point. She push the solution through so quickly it really hurt and I looked up and she was smiling.
The nursing staff are generally excellent just my misfortune to meet someone so nasty.
Food appalling and mostly inedible - even the egg salad had eggs that were rock hard and tomatoes bitter.
Not 1 decent cup of tea coffee or hot chocolate
Menu was v high fat - lasagne, sausage and mash, all day breakfast.
