Review of Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
18th June 2022

I could not fault the nursing staff though had the Doctors/consultants got their act together i may already be aware of the cause of my heart attack. As it was a "paperwork error" meant i was kept in CCU long enough to contract Covid which was a disturbing co-incidence given i had only just expressed concern over my being left well behind other patients on the angiogram list for Bart's. The longer i go without the angiogram the more likely it is that the cause may not be found.

Suggested improvements
There is an infinite queue for beds in CCU with pressure on staff and patients alike to improve turnover. There are an amazing amount of unwritten rules to abide by in CCU. If these have been going long term it may be wise to produce a timetable for patients so they can quickly adapt to their short-term stay in CCU. eg, not allowed showers until 48 hours after any pain in the chest has been felt. Using the correct lavatory/shower room appeared to be abused by many patients. Am improved sign can quickly solve this.

Absolutely horrendous me and my misses have been waiting up here for 14 hours and still counting and she hasn't even seen a doctor yet for what could be internal bleeding this is a utter discrase to call this a hospital and there's people around us still waiting for 9 hours as well this is a joke and need to sort your hospital out because this is looking like more of a NHS joke. What happened to the NHS being great like they ust to be now it's a mockery

Suggested improvements
There's nothing that's been done right so everything

My partner was due to be started off with labour we got there at 12pm had the first stage done at 1pm but her body wasn't ready and rejected the first stage they then left her unto 8pm before saying they are going to try stage 2 didn't give us any info on this so we done our own research on this and my partner could not have this done due to it involving medication she cant have they we we waited and waited before a midwife come at 9pm and she was horrible and rude saying she don't want it done because of the pain when in fact its because of the medication it involves they did not read her notes at all we didn't see any doctor very poor from queens the first midwife we saw in the day time was great but the night one's was horrible we are now looking at going private because the experience was horrible

Review of Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU)
12th June 2022

At the scariest and most stressful time of my life, the doctors, nursing managers, physio's along with their teams made me feel completely at ease. Their professionalism, compassion, patience and their overall good nature calmed my mind and I knew I was in the best place receiving the best care for my condition. Thank you.

Another MRI scanner would be useful as there was a long wait.
