Left in corridor without food or drink. Was not told what was happening. Incontinent and left for hours. Was not given my medication
Had to wait over 12 hours to been seen by a medical staff after initial triage. The long wait is unacceptable especially when anyone go to A&E only in emergency. There is no indication of when one will be seen.
Despite the staff feeling us that ithe wait will be over 10 hours after the initial triage, patients are not given the option of going back home and returning after 10 hours. Staff was very clear that if anyone leaves, the clock will reset when they come back the next day.
Sitting for over 12 hours, with suspected stroke and no option to go back home and get a little rest - I felt even worse than at the beginning of this ordeal. Surely there is a better way to manage, with some consideration shown to patients who are already suffering. Very disappointed
The wait time was ridiculous. We arrived at 11pm and at 2pm we were told we would have to wait 12-14 hours to see a doctor, this was after x-rays and blood tests were already taken. We self discharged only to find out days later that my Mum had had a heart attack.
I was kept in the loop and no treatment was done without firstly being given a full explanation
I felt the people I spoke with were all kind and professional, but the organisation left a bit to be desired. It was not very well sign posted to get checked in, in addition to that it was a very long walk for someone in pain. Following that there were not clear instructions as to where to go next. The initial part was timely up until I was triaged, then the wait for nearly 7 hours, and the seating was very poor and the update information to those waiting was very slow.
I was brought in by ambulance, ( the ambulance staff were amazing) it all went very downhill onvlce the hospital staff at queens took over.
I was left in agony in a corridor for 14 hours, I should have had an emergency MRI scan but was told by the doctor after 14 hours of waiting that I had to wait for an appointment for an mri which I am still waiting for, which is in 4 weeks time (ridiculous).
I was also kept waiting in the wrong corridor apparently.
The nurses were useless no care or consideration for my pain at all , I will not be going to that hospital again , rude nurses, rude doctors, only pain relief offered was paracetamol (again ridiculous) if paracetamol would have helped I can assure you I would not have called an ambulance.
14 hours waiting was only offered a drink once.
My blood pressure was low and instead of getting fluids in me through a drip they kept telling me to drink more water ,which was not actually offered to me, so impossible really.
I was not kept up to date with any info at all the whole process was a shambles.
All the staff just Walking round like headless chickens !!!!!! Waited for pain relief didn't get it got brushed off evwrytime I told them I was having pains in my chest and I needed medication told to sit down treated like an animal !!!!!!!! No organisation no people skills can't understand most of the strong accents useless place might aswel go home and DIE !!!!
The staff are amazing considering the pressure they are under.
Had to walk 100 yards to triage nurse to asked, “why have you come here” no examination to assess urgency of pain suffering and being sick. Told to return to entrance and register, patient in awful pain and still being sick.
During registration still being sick and in need of pain relief. Many hours later entered an ‘assessment room’ still being sick and in worse pain. Asked nurse if patient could lie down in one either 3 beds or 3 trolleys, the answer was bluntly “NO this is not a treatment room only an assessment room. Many hours again had passed and after a canular and pain relief given patient told to wait in another room where he would see a doctor. Patient sat on a hard metal chair bench and waited several more hours before seeing a doctor who sent him for a scan and blood test. YES diagnosed as Appendicitis and blood poisoning, doctor said he must have an appendectomy rather soon. Eventually operated on the following morning.
Lack of communication of care needed
