Review of Day Surgery Unit written by a patient
30th July 2018

I was admitted as a day patient to have my broken wrist repaired. I had visits from the surgeon and the anaesthetist who made me feel comfortable and relaxed (as possible under the circumstances). Wonderful team.

Review of B7 written by a patient

My experience was outstanding and I could not have gone through labour without the support and kindness of all the staff at QA hospital. Some people who really went that extra mile and gave their Job 100% are listed below. Penny Bone was our midwife throughout our pregnacy it wasnt an easy time for us after suffering a loss the year before, penny's constant reassurance and answering our silly questions got us through and made the pregnancy enjoyable she is a star. Amie cook this lady is truly amazing she was incharge on induction and got my labour going she was then on the postnatal ward the next day which was lovely I felt I had a real connection with her and she really helped me establish breast feeding which I am still doing now which is down to Amie and the rest of the midwifes support with this. Sophie Riley she was amazing and kept me going when labour got going constant reassurance and belief in me that I could do the biggest challenge I have ever had to do. David Pontefract this man deserves something special his bedside manner was amazing and his professionalism is beyond the norm he was amazing. Made me feel at ease constant talking and distraction whilst he was helping me. Also there was a student midwife called Steph who worked with Sophie Riley during my labour I don't know her surname but she will make a fantastic midwife. Another lovely lady I met was Clare (midwife support worker) I don't know her surname but she loves unicorns and is buying a horse for children's party she was so lovely and really took the time to talk where I was in hospital for a few days before and after labour. I would love to nams everyone but I just can't remember everyone's names I hope these members of staff hear about how well they have done. People are to quick to write complaints that I feel it's important to praise the good times. Thanks again Mrs Emma Butterworth

Review of Rheumatology Clinic written by a patient
23rd July 2018

I didn't have long to wait. The Consultant was very thorough, he explained what he thought the problem is to me very well. He also asked detailed questions about my health and requested blood tests. He then suggested treatment options which we discussed, when we had decided the best of those options for me he explained the next step. I was involved and the Consultant was excellent. I wasn't sure how to answer 'Do you have any of the following long-standing conditions?' as am not sure if chronic fatigue is classed as a long standing physical condition but I've had it for 3yrs (is that long term) and it causes physical problems.

I got mugged on the Saturday and was quite groggy with suspected concussion. All the staff were very attentive and very helpful. When they did send me home I was very grateful for their help said so. I really can't say enough good things about the care I received.

I arrived for my appointment in Rheumatology feeling very unsure and nervous of my treatment not knowing what to expect. I was introduced to the 'team' and was quickly put at ease and informed of what my treatment was to be and how is was to be given. I found the staff to be extremely friendly and informative and all of my many questions were answered. I had to sit for many hours having the infusion but the care staff were there with their many hot drinks and lunchtime refreshments which were amazing. In conclusion I have to say that the care and attention to detail of my Consultant Dr. G.Dulay was second to none, wonderful. Thank you.

Review of Eye Day Case written by a patient
20th July 2018

I have been impressed and delighted with the service I have received from the Eye Department from the first contact in March through to the cataract extraction and lens replacement to my left eye. Great trouble was taken to accommodate me as I was away for two months so that I had the surgery in a timely manner before going away again in September. All the staff and doctors I came in contact with were very helpful and answered all my questions. I look forward to seeing them all again when I have the right eye procedure in a few months!

Review of Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery written by a patient

There are no signs indicating the way from Cosham Rail Station to the hospital for people wishing to walk from the station. All signage at the hospital too is designed for people arriving by bus or car. If we are serious about people being more active to improve their health then some indication from the station of a pedestrian route would help encourage that.
