I had a sudden vaginal delivery at 31 weeks gestation and all of my care was excellent. We had a student midwife as well who was lovely. My only feedback is that my father in law was allowed on to the ward after I had given birth and bought to our room door. We had not told our family that we had even had the baby just that we were in labour. I was surprised no one asked if it was ok for him to come into the ward. At this point we had not even seen our baby as she had been taken to the Neonatal ward to be checked. I would have thought all visitors should be escorted onto the ward by the birthing partner or a nurse once agreement has been made that they are allowed to visitor. I was pretty shocked this wasn’t the case.
