Written by a patient
2nd April 2020

I was admitted via AAnd E on Tuesday after sustained breathing difficulties which I had never experienced before. For the past two days whilst I understand the exceptional circumstances we are working in and I am grateful for all care given Communication has been poor and there could have been significantly more compassion from some people. Others were very kind. It’s just worth remembering that a smile and even asking how are you feeling today goes a long way. I am mostly blind and yet all staff approached me from the side I had explained has no sight despite providing written information about this in A and E I had a whole day where the pharmacy said I needed to get an item through my GP a dr say that I didn’t need it snd was then prescribed it. I asked at 10 am how a blind covid patient would get home and despite my discharge still don’t know how it will happen. Communication and planning ahead has been poor but I still thank everyone and wish them well. Elizabeth Printer
