Having recently attended the A&E dept., at POW I can't praise the staff enough. I waited a matter of minutes to be seen and was immediately given pain relief and investigations began. Having had the plan explained to me an operation was carried out (I have no doubt that this saved my life). The staff ITU were amazing, not leaving my side and constantly monitoring me. Explaining and encouraging me each day. After three days I was transferred to Ward 11. All I can say is WOW! All staff on that ward went above and beyond at a time when I could do little for myself. They made me feel important and nothing was too much trouble for them. A few weeks later I returned to day surgery for a procedure where once again I was treated with respect in a friendly and caring manner. The surgical team at this hospital are truly amazing. I also want to point out that the sonographers, porters, cleaners could not have done more for me.
