Highly efficient and professional hospital and staff.
I have had various appointments through this hospital and have found the staff to be exemplary when dealing with me.
I have for several years experienced care at the City Hospital and still do. I have always been impressed with the efficiency, care and sympathy expressed by all members of staff. I think we are very lucky to have such an institution in our area.
Some staff were great like Mr Lumb and the midwife Beata(I think is the spelling) but we also had many many mistakes like the first midwife not thinking my partner was in labour and leaving us in the waiting room with her contracting for over 3 hours and then being seen by another midwife who immediately said she was labouring. Next was the epidural which took 13 attempts (13 needles in my partners back), being told she was fully dilated and to push (for 2 hours!) Only to be checked by the day midwife who said she was only 9cm which caused her to have to go for an emergency c-section and where the baby was wedged and made it difficult for Mr Lumb to get him out. There were some other downsides too but I am not going to divulge too much on here.
Dr. Lioliou skilfully dealt with a skin cancer on my leg. She and her staff were fantastic. She explained everything clearly and now the wound has healed I can barely see it. Top notch plastic surgeon - the NHS is so lucky to have doctors like her and amazing staff.
Staff were super friendly! Nurse Lynn & HCA Mathew were so kind and attentive, they both made my time on the ward less anxious!
I was admitted via A&E having been delivered by the EMAS team. I spent a number of hours in A&E being assessed, and I was then moved to a medical assessment ward for 1 day. Finally I was sent to Ward A3 to complete assessment and investigation. As I progressed through the process I was slightly mystified as to the whole objective, and who was overseeing and co-ordinating the results. Having had a chance to read the notes in my file I am re-assured that the co-ordinating element is the case file however it may be beneficial to make it clearer how the different groups are co-ordinated. I admit I had not looked at the hospital website before attendance but I believe this would not have answered my query but may have stimulated me to enquire more.
The consultant Miss Giota Lioliou was amazing.explained everything with details and respect me!!thank you!
I was put at ease at my appointment which let to the doctor to carry out the examination without any discomfort.
Always treated extremely well no complaints at all, staff excellent food good
