A couple of weeks ago I had a terrible fall in our chicken coop.. Initially I thought I had just sprained my ankle so tried to self medicate and rest at home.. As the days went by It became apparent I couldn’t put any weight on the foot.. the following day (10/09/20) I got X-rayed and before I knew what was happening I was told in A&E they would need to operate the following day!!! After a 3 Hour operation two metal plates and loads of screws later I was wheeled from recovery back to ward 30.For the duration of my stay I was treated with the utmost respect and the special care I received really helped...As we all know due to Covid additional safety precautions are in place .. limited visits from Family does makes it more emotional for a patient. But all the staff I came into contact with and there was allot over the cause of three days were wonderfully helpful and caring from the X-ray department CT scan team A&E doctors surgeons the nurses the anaesthetists, porters the cleaners everyone were committed to give the best care!! If only I could remember everyone’s names I would name them individually! Thank YOU so much to the NHS !!! And the Team at Pembury Hospital!! We as a nation are truly blessed to have access to exceptional health care in times of Crisis..
