The staff I found to be very good and more importantly caring towards there patients ,I would not hesitate to use there services again for any of my family
Banned from the hospital, apparently due to ‘unpleasant’ behaviour! I mean what is the definition of pleasant? Should I be making small talk with the staff to ensure my demeanour whilst I am severely unwell is classed as pleasant??
It seems more likely that they didn’t like my complaint, which was legitimate and made appropriately. So basically, complain and you will be left on a limb after parting with thousands of pounds to use their services. No mercy and no consideration of the state of people’s health. Quite honestly suicidal now wondering how I can access my consultant whom is looking to operate to help me.
Whilst the initial procedure has gone well and I am classed a success by the improvements made, the follow up care, the availability of staff to rectify mistakes in billing/appointments made is shocking.
There is no option where you get to actually talk to someone. You may leave a message and that might/might not get responded to, but you can't ring the secretary, or get a switchboard to even contact the Consultant secretary.
Oh, you can talk to someone immediately if you are paying money, that line gets answered very promptly.
Can't say I am impressed with anything post op.
All staff are extremely polite and listen
I had an ongoing problem with leaking legs for well over a year. At worst the dressings needed to be changed five times a day. Fortunately, I was referred to Mr Adam Howard at The Oaks Hospital, Colchester in September 2022. Mr Howard suggested a SIGVARIS wrap for my left leg. When I saw him for a follow up appointment, he suggested a compression sock on my right leg as well. Best thing possible was to see Mr Howard, such a helpful and understanding consultant. My legs have now completely healed. A district nurse was coming daily to dress my legs, over recent weeks with SIGVARIS wrap and socks my legs improved and today the district nurse has been discharged. I suggested to the team leader, who came today, to encourage anyone who has an ulcerated leg to give SIGVARIS a try.

All the staff (nurses, physiotherapists, reception, caterers, and porters) at the hospital were respectful efficient and caring.
My experience at the Oaks has been very good from Reception, Physio, Ward Staff and Consultant.
The hospital was nice, light and airy. It did not feel clinical and so I felt relaxed.
All staff were very friendly and communication has been good.
The care I received from the Surgeon to the care staff and hospitality staff was exceptional. Aftercare was also exceptional from the gym to the Consultation phone calls.
Could not fault anything.
Thank you.
I would recommend this hospital to anyone.
The night staff were brilliant and if you asked nicely you can get a mug for your tea.
