I was contacted by the Admissions team and asked to go to Windmill Road on a Monday in late June 2022, with a view to having my spinal decompression surgery the following Wednesday -an offer I couldn't refuse- as it seems the Surgeon had asked Admissions to look out for a spot for me; thanks so very much. Everyone was so nice to me [I am a nervous patient] and from the moment of my admission to the Theatre Direct ward I was treated like a king. After the operation, which took quite a few hours, I was looked after in the Recovery Ward by an angel in a nurse's uniform, and transferred to the Osteopathic Short Stay Unit for three nights, which was staffed by others, similarly attired. The procedure seems to have worked. Wow. I cannot thank everyone there enough; the cleaners, the catering staff, the nurses, medical assistants, physiotherapists, the Occupational Therapy girls, lead nurses and of course the incredible surgeons... Wonderful.
