The nurses , student nurses, health care assistants were excellent , always keeping us informed and updated. Regular temp and blood pressure checks to ensure no adverse reactions to transfusions. The refreshments and food were very good and the treatment areas and toilets kept very clean. Everyone was polite and caring for the wellbeing of my elderly father.

Suggested improvements
The 1st day was very time consuming, especially the wait for the blood units to arrive . We arrived at 13:30 and went home around 21:30. If possible and without increasing risk to patient , there needs to be a quicker turnaround in the processing and supply of blood units to the patient , especially those (like my elderly 90 yr old father) whose haemoglobin count was life threateningly low at 45. His heart might have stopped during the time it took to provide the units required to get his blood counts up to a more stable level.
